Submitted assignments go to your instructor's Gradebook for grading, and after they have been graded they move out of your Assignments Folder and into your Portfolio.
For your benefit, Saved assignments are not visible to instructors. Saving allows you to hide unfinished work in WebTycho until you are ready to reveal it to your instructor by clicking Submit for Grading.
I did the work but my grade is Fail/Zero! What happened? You probably Saved as Draft instead of Submitted for Grading so your instructor never received your work. At this point you cannot Submit for Grading unless you contact your instructor and ask for a second chance: the assignment could be returned to you as Marked as Ungraded.
But when I click on it in Portfolio you can see I did the work! Yes. This feature verifies for you that although you did not submit on time, your work is not lost and it is still accessible to you through the Assignment Folder.
After Saving as Draft or Submitting for Grade check the status in your Assignment Folder, especially if your intent was to submit for grading.

Each Portfolio Contains
- List of all graded assignments and a link to the assignment itself
- List of all assignments submitted for grade and marked as read by the instructor, but not yet graded
- List of all notes the student posted in conferences. Each listing is linked to the full text
- List of all Study Group collaborative documents the student worked on. Each listing is linked to the full text
WebTycho Automatically Updates Your Portfolio Each Time
- you submit conference notes
- you create or edit a collaborative document
- you submit assignments for grade
- your instructor assigns grades
- your instructor marks an assignment as Read (but not graded yet)
