Netscape Messenger E-Mail Settings (required)

  1. Click on Edit from the Netscape menu bar.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click on the + in the box next to Mail and Newsgroups.
  4. Click on Identity and type your information in the boxes:
    Your name (your name as you want it to appear on your outgoing e-mail)
    E-mail address (your full e-mail address)
  5. Click on Mail Servers.
  6. Click on Add and enter the information requested.
    1. Server Name: For the name of your incoming mail server ask your network administrator at work or your ISP; often, this is the part of your e-mail address after the @ sign
    2. Server Type: POP3 or IMAP (see box below, and/or contact your system administrator or your ISP)
    3. User Name (the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign)
  7. Click OK.
  8. In the section labeled Outgoing Mail Server enter the information requested.
    1. Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: For the name of your outgoing mail server, ask your network administrator at work or your ISP; often, this is the part of your e-mail address after the @ sign)
    2. Outgoing mail server user name (the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign)
  9. Click OK near the bottom right of the Preferences window; this will finalize all setting changes in both the Identity and Mail Server preferences.
