Identifying a CD ROM Drive on Your Computer

The letter identifier for the CD drive will vary from computer to computer. You must set the CD identifier in Account Preferences for each computer you use to access WebTycho.

Some course content (see Content in the User Guide) may be delivered on a CD ROM that is sent to you. To view this content you must specify your CD Drive in Account Preferences.

Find out which drive is your CD drive (Windows)

  1. Insert a CD into the CD drive
  2. In the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, right-click on Start > Explore
  3. Look for an icon with the title of your CD beside it. That is your CD drive.

For a Macintosh, when identifying the CD-ROM drive you must put backslash </> then the volume name in lower case. The volume name may differ from one CD to the next. An example of a volume name is <jsl-mc>
